This Zinfandel comes from a forty-year-old vineyard in the Chalk Hill area of the Russian River AVA. The vineyard’s steep slopes and old vines produce an intense, luscious wine with beautiful fruit and excellent tannin structure. Aged eighteen months in new and neutral French oak barrels to allow proper maturation and soften tannins. Only fifty-five cases of this wine were produced, we hope you enjoy it.
Tasting Notes: A nicely refined Zinfandel with aromas of raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and black pepper. Nice complexity and not overly jammy. Mouthfeel is full and luscious with supple tannin supported by french oak. Finish is delightful and demands another taste. Pairs great with rich foods.
