2022 Russian River Rosen Vineyard Pinot Noir

Rosen Vineyard is a one acre vineyard at our neighbors home in the Sexton Valley of West Sonoma County. This tiny plot produces world-class Pinot noir utilizing organic and regenerative farming practices. We develop the wine naturally with minimalist methods in order to preserve the beautiful cool climate characteristics the site has to offer. After a slow native fermentation we gently press the wine off into neutral French oak barrels where it matures for eleven months until bottling. Only six barrels of this wine were produced. We hope you enjoy it.

Tasting Notes: 

Exceptional color from the Mariafeld clone, leading into beautiful aromatics of strawberry, cranberry, and other red fruits supported by a slight earthiness. A vibrant mouth feel follows, characteristic of its youthful exuberance. A lower level of alcohol balanced with the natural acidity the site produces makes for a very pleasing feel on the palate. The minimized use of new French oak allows the natural fine powder-like tannins of the grape skins to shine, extending the experience into a soft ethereal finish. Ready to drink now for those who like youthful Pinot noir but will easily hold for fifteen years.
