Vineyards
La Cruz Vineyard - Petaluma Gap
The La Cruz vineyard is truly a special place, it produces one of a kind Chardonnay grapes due to it’s very special terroir. The vineyard is located on the Sonoma Coast in the Petaluma Gap at 122 feet of elevation on a gentle slope. This location provides warm days which give way to cool foggy nights. These cool nights preserve the acidity in the grapes producing incredibly bright fruit and citrus characteristics. The vines are comprised of wente and robert young clones planted in diablo clay and haire clay loam. These vines are about thirty years old.
Herbitage Vineyard - Los Carneros
The Herbitage vineyard is a beautiful one and a half acre plot in an old alluvial fan just south of Sonoma square. It’s dark charcoal huichica loam soil is known for producing excellent Pinot Noir. The vineyard is planted with a seldom seen Pinot Noir clone called Wadenswil 2A from Switzerland on top of 101-14MG rootstock. These fifteen-year-old vines produce balanced fruit which results in an aromatic refined style of Pinot Noir with refreshing acidity.
Landa Vineyard - Chalk Hill
The Landa Vineyard is a beautiful little two-acre vineyard on a very steep south westerly facing hillside in the Chalk Hill area east of Healdsburg. The soil is a rocky mix of spreckels loam, river- wash, and felta gravelly loam. The steep slope combined with extremely well drained soil forces the forty year old Zinfandel vines to dig deep roots and struggle for water. This struggle creates small, intense, thick-skinned berries which in turn produce full-bodied aromatic wine. The old vine Zinfandel is planted atop St. George rootstock.
Nacimento Vineyard - Sonoma Valley
The tiny one acre Nacimento vineyard is located high up in the hills of eastern Sonoma county at 300 feet of elevation and a 15% slope. These modestly aged ten-year-old vines are planted to 337 clone Cabernet Sauvignon and produce exceptional fruit comprised of loose clusters with very small berries. The soil is primarily forward-kidd complex and laniger loam common to the Mayacama mountains and neighboring Napa County
